Rules and Regulations

Team composition

  • All members of a team should be from the same division and same school. We encourage students to form teams on their own, but if needed we can help place individuals in a team.
    Each team can have up to 5 students. Note that teams with fewer students will be at a disadvantage since individual scores count towards the final team tournament score.

  • Time:
    Option 1 - 8:30 to 12:00 p.m.
    Option 2 - 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.

    Note:
    Number of spots are limited and requests for specific slots will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

    ‍Individual Event - Speed Round (60 minutes)
    ‍Individual Event - Accuracy Round (60 minutes)
    ‍Team Event (30 minutes)

Entry Fee

  • Registration closes on Monday, April 15th, 2019. You can register here.Important!
  • Space is limited. Registration will close earlier if no spots are availableAcceptance is on a first-received, first registered basis. Please register all your teams as quickly as possible
  • Registration Cost

    $20
    per Individual if registered on or before March XX
    $100 per Team if registered on or before March XX
    $25 per Individual if registered after March XX
    $125 per Team if registered after March XX

    Payment

    If you registered but have not paid the registration fee, please pay using the PayPal button below.If you have not yet registered, please fill out the registration form and pay using the PayPal button on the confirmation page of the form.

Schedule

  • April 23rd: Individual rounds Students may choose from any one of the following slots:
    8:00am - 12:00pm
    12:00pm - 4:00pm
    4:00pm - 8:00 pm

    April 24th: Team round Teams may choose from any one of the following slots:
    9:00am - 10:30am
    10:30am - 12:00pm
    12:00pm - 01:30pm

    Awards distribution ceremony will be held at 4:00pm.

Tournament Rules

  • To solve the problems you should be smart, open-minded, and creative. You’ll also need a working internet connection as the tournament will be taking place online this year. All exams will be proctored synchronously over video call, and anyone who is unaccounted for in the proctored sessions will be disqualified.
    Calculators, graph papers, rulers, protractors, and other geometrical instruments and other electronics are not permitted during the examination. ​​

Awards

Awards

  • The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, April XX at 4pm, after the final team round has closed. 
    All participants will be awarded with certificates. Winners will receive gift cards for Random Math, which they can redeem for classes or any of our math camps.

Individual Awards:

  • Top 10 students in each grade will receive the following: 
    1st place: $300
    2nd - 5th place: $200 
    6th - 10thplace: $100

    Winners will receive gift cards for Random Math, which can be redeemed for classes or camps. The top 10% of students from each grade will also receive trophies.

Team Awards:

  • Top 3 teams in each division will receive:
    1st place: $1500 (per team) 
    2nd place: $1000 (per team) 
    3rd place: $500 (per team) 

    Winners will receive gift cards for Random Math, which can be redeemed for classes or camps.
